Bahrain National Museum
The Bahrain National Museum was officially inaugurated by the late Amir H.H. Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa on 15 December 1988. It was considered one of the finest museums of its kind in the Gulf region. Today, the Bahrain National Museum is one of the island’s main cultural landmarks.
Al Faith Mosque
Al Fateh Grand Mosque is Bahrain’s largest place of worship and is one of the largest mosques in the world. It was built under the patronage of the late Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa in 1987 and was named after Ahmed Al Fateh. With its walls beautifully ornamented with Kufic calligraphy, the mosque accommodates up to 7,000 worshippers and is crowned with the largest fiberglass dome in the world.
Bahrain Fort
Located in the area of Seef and previously known as Portugal Port, the Bahrain Fort or “Qal’at al-Bahrain” is built over 180,000 sq ft. Occupation of the fort has been recorded from 2300BC to the 16th Century. The fort is named for the Qal’at al-Burtughal and was located at the capital of the Dilmun civilization.
Bab Al Bahrain
Situated in the heart of Manama, the Bab Al Bahrain Souq is more than a place to shop. Rather, it’s a trip down Bahrain’s historic past, where traditional shops and vendors have stood the test of time and remain almost in their original form. The small shops are laden with handwoven carpets and fabrics, spices, perfumes, handicrafts, and various souvenirs as well as modern products from around the world. Shoppers can explore parts of Bahrain’s culture through tangible items , purchasing an excellent home or personal accessories as cherished souvenirs.
